Wordpress adsense on sidebar using widgets
Are you wondering how to add ad-sense on the sidebar or on a page of a wordpress site? On this site you will notice adsense links on bottom left hand corner. This mini tutorial will show you how to add a custom ad-sense box anywhere on the wordpress site. You do not need to make any changes to your theme’s php scripts code. Everything is done from the user friendly dashboard.
Following is the an example of ad-sense box showing in the footer section on this site. There are several ways to accomplish this. But I have chosen easiest route using wordpress widgets. One again you do not have to edit any wordpress or theme scripts.
Ad-sense on sidebar with wordpress widgets can be accomplish with the help of two wordpress plugins. Follow the steps below to get your custom ad-sense box,
- Download and install Executable PHP widget,WP Simple Adsense Insertion plugins
- Create code in google or any other adsense for the desired size box. Be careful with the colors. You want your adsense box to blend in with rest of the content.
- Copy the adsense code in Settings,Simple Adsense Insertion page inside Adsense Ad Campaign box. Save the code by clicking on Update Options button.
- On the Dashboard ,go to Appearance,Widgets page. Drag and Drop any PHP Code Widget in the desired sidebar box.
- Add the code <?php echo show_ad_camp_1(); ?> in body box. Do not write anything on the title box.
After you have followed steps above you will see adsense showing up on your side bar. Please post your comments if you run into any issues.
You can also add adsense anywhere in your post by adding <!- – wp_ad_camp_1 – -> in the html view of the page. Here is an working example of the same adsense box in the post.
